    Good afternoon,

I have a drawback and is that when I post a video in the header of the page it looks perfectly but when I navigate in responsive I do not appear that it can be?

    I appreciate your collaboration

    Hi there,

Thank you for writing back to us.

Regarding the issue on the video background on the header, it is advisable to include both videos in mp4 and WebM format so that it can be opened in different devices/using different browsers. Some mobile browser also don't play video automatically so it's better to include the preview image as well.

    Hope this gets to help.

    Best regards.

    Hi again,

Thank you for writing back to us.

If your mp4 video does not play in the web browser and devices, one possible reason is your video is not HTML5 compatible. You can use freeware HandBrake http://handbrake.fr/ or FFMPEG https://www.ffmpeg.org/ to re-encode the video.

I still recommend you to provide alternative by adding video in WebM format and the preview image as some browsers don't support MP4 format or, in old browsers case, can't play video at all. To convert the MP4 to WebM, you can use the online converter such as this http://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-webm

    Hope this solves the problem.

    Best regards.

    Hi again,

Thank you for writing back to us.

If that's the case, could you please try deactivate all third party plugins first so we can't rule out any plugin conflict issue with the website?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards.

    Hi again Creanovo,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I'm sorry for this but apparently, video header is indeed disabled on mobile browsers in order to make sure that the page can be loaded quickly and efficiently as loading video, especially the one with autoplay, will take a lot of resources and slow the page down. Especially on older phones and browsers.

This restriction is applied on most themes, not just Salient and for an alternative, most themes provides an option to display a placeholder image instead. For Salient, you can find it in the 'Page Header Settings' on your edit page:

I'm really sorry for this inconvenience. Thank you for understanding.

    Best regards.
