on march 15th an e-mail from themeforst came in with a link for an update. But I can´t find any information about that update. My running version is 8.5.4.
Please update to Salient Theme Version 8.5.5 and Salient VC 5.4.7.
If you are not seeing the Plugin Update Notification you need to uncheck the " Disable Theme Reccomended Plugin Notifications " Field in "Salient Theme Options Panel" -> General Settings -> "Toggle Theme Features" Section .
I am not seeing the Plugin Update Notification. The " Disable Theme Reccomended Plugin Notifications " Field in "Salient Theme Options Panel" -> General Settings -> "Toggle Theme Features" Section is unchecked!
I deleted the former Salient theme and the Chid theme from Appearance/Themes. Then I copied the unzipped new Salient theme folder and the Child theme folder into localhost .... wp-content/themes folder. The new Salient theme was loaded but not the Child theme. Like with the last update I have an error message:
"Salient Child Theme The parent theme is missing. Please install the "salient" parent theme."
But the Salient theme is installed! (see attached screenshot 1091-update-01.png)
After unzipping the folder "salient.zip" the folder "salient" is inside a folder "salient". I copied the upper folder within the "original" folder into the themes folder. That was the problem.

Simply activate the Parent Theme .The Child Theme is not needed and is only provided as a starting point for developers.

Since you are localhost have a look at the Theme folder and check to see if the files are not a folder deep .
