    Hi,

I've got salient installed on both localhost and on the web.

I've tried to test the export button from localhost in wordpress's tools options, and import the .xml that it generates onto the web (same version of wordpress) but i dont see the visual composer populated. I can switch the page to classic mode and see all the data, but nothing is outputted when i view the page. What else am i missing?

Are sql databases suppose to named the same? Does exporting through wordpress even associate itself with the new database? I dont quite understand this process as i am also seeing a 'Failed to import .. .jpg'.

    I appreciate your guidance.

Nevermind, I answered my own question.

I did have to import my local database to the live database.. rename a couple of things.. messed around with the wp_config.php.. and uploaded the content to the same folders. That was quite a lot of steps.. But how come the import/export feature wasnt simple enough for me?

    Hey ,

We recommend using plugins like Duplicator as a manual transfer does take that many steps : https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
