I'm trying to change the post excerpt length so it can show the "read more" button but it's not working. I changed from 30 to 25, to 10, and to 5 and there's no change. If I deselect the "Automatic Post Excerpts" option it changes, but if it's selected it does nothing.
Its removed in the Ascend Skin, To add it back add this into the Custom CSS box located in your Salient Options panel (Make Sure there are no red cross in the Box) :

Please update to Salient Theme Version 8.0 and Salient VC 5.0.1.
