I would like to make a page with a full width header or hero section with the rest of the home page being boxed. 

The design will be similar to your "overlapping testimonial section" template in the Salient Studio, but with a small line of shading on the left and right sides.

I'm able to create a boxed column that overlaps with the header; the problem is that the boxing also creates a horizontal line at the bottom of that column, so it appears to be separated from the row that is below it, which I don't want it to be.
