Congrats for the Salient theme, it rocks!

I have a dilemma. I have a custom product hierarchy that requires me to have the products grouped by categories and subcategories.

On the main page of : http://ipcwashsystems.ro we have all the needed categories. 

What I am trying to achieve is have subcategories for each of these categories. At the moment, if you have a look over : 

 http://ipcwashsystems.ro/categoria/spalatorii-auto/

you can see that I have my required subcategories created. 

But my problem is that they show up twice. As I've seen, what gets displayed here is the result of selecting the 'Diplay Type' dropdown from  the categories configuration screen which doesn't allow me to hide the categories (the only uptions are Default / Products / Subcategories / Both). 

The expected result would be to have 'Subcategories' selected, and only display the subcategories section once.

Is there any way I can elegantly do this, without having to meddle with the php?

I've also tried adding the .wsct_wrapper {display:none;} rule to my products page, but to no avail.
