Hello, I hired someone to create a website for me and he disappeared on me. I am now wanting to learn how to build the site myself. He had set up a wordpress site for me and purchased the Salient theme, however, the Salient theme is not updated. He had informed me that he would not update it for me, but that I would have to repurchase the theme in order to have access to the updates. So, I repurchased the Salient theme and now I cannot upload the newly purchased theme nor delete the old one. When I try to upload the new theme, I unzipped the downloaded package and then opened it to find the zipped package labeled salient.zip. I have attempted to upload this salient.zip file to WordPress about 6 times and it downloads 100% of the package and then goes to an error. I do not understand why it is doing this and I do not know what I am doing enough to be able to make the download via FTP client. Please help me resolve this issue. I would greatly appreciate it. Please update to Salient Theme Version 8.0.15 and Salient VC 5.0.1.
If you're upgrading from Salient VC 4.9.2 earlier, you'll need to delete the plugin from your plugins section in the WordPress admin panel before installing the current version in Appearance > Install Plugins - This is necessary due to a bug in the Salient VC 4.9.2 which prevents regular updating.
