We've been running our charity site for a while now with Salient/Visual Composer but have recently tried to update a few pages and the Visual Composer won't load up. I've tried deleting/reinstalling/activating the Salient Visual Composer plugin, but I keep getting this error:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wpb_getImageBySize() (previously declared in /home/kenyaaid/public_html/wp-content/themes/salient/wpbakery/js_composer/composer/lib/helpers.php:15) in /home/kenyaaid/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer_salient/include/helpers/helpers.php on line 115
I'm not sure what I need to do to fix this issue (And I'm not technical at all...)? Any help would be very much appreciated!
Updating to the latest would probably cause some issues since the version is really old.
Could you try to install the old and the latest next to each other and gradually move to the new one. You can get the latest theme files from the download section on your themeforest.net account.
The best would be to access your site over FTP, rename or download the old salient 4.9 - for backup purposes - and then upload the new one from the themeforest zip then switch to the new theme and see what breaks.
The themes on your server are at wp-content \ themes \ folder.
The salient composer will also need to be updated i.e. switch to the latest salient then deactivate, delete and reinstall it under appearance \ install plugins.
Let us know how that goes and we can take it from there.
Legend, thank you! I installed the new version of Salient and a few (tense!) minutes later it's all looking pretty good. A few minor updates to do but otherwise perfect :)

You seem to be using salient 4.9 which is significantly outdated.
