Is there a zoom function that I can enable on image-grid lightboxes?
When a user clicks on an item in an image gallery, I'd like them to have the option to zoom. I'm building a site that has lots of 19th Century maps, so it would be good for users to be able to see the detail.
Alternatively, is there a zoom function available with any other element in Salient?

But this is not quite what I am after - I would like a lightbox with a zoom function, so the user can zoom in. Any ideas?

I am afraid the Salient theme does not offer any such feature and would likely require custom work to add in a Zoomable LIghtbox .
Try using Third Party Plugins such as "Essential Grid" by Themepunch or similar.
