    The home slider is hidden by the footers.  It can be partially seen, as a sliver,  on the edge of the browser and if the browser is narrowed so that only 2 of the footers appear, the entire home slider appears.

    The template is default.

    thank you.

    Hey there,

    Thanks for reaching in,

    Can you please provide a link to your website so we can replicate this on our side.

    Regards

  • Florence replied

    the website is being updated on http://swhr.wpengine.org.

    The original site swhr.org  uses a very old version of Salient and was on php 4.6

    there are other problems with it, so I moved it to wpengine.org and I am having trouble with the home page.

    I have inactivated many of the plugin I had to use on the older version, but I would like to use the home slider on this one.

    thanks.

    Do you need a login

    Hi Florence,

    Thank you for providing the link.

    You can use the following custom CSS to fix this issue. Please go to Salient > General Settings > CSS/ Script Related and enter the following under the "Custom CSS Code" section:

    body[data-footer-reveal="1"] #footer-outer{
      position: relative!important;

    I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

    Best Regards.

    Thanks, that worked

    it worked to put the  home slider up but the browser cannot scroll down to bottom of the page.  Also there is a boarder that  was in a child theme that has since been delete and I no longer want it.  I have cleared the cache.   I want to use the boarder that you now code in salient

    Thanks for your patience.  I have the template Home - Slider only.  Default template shows nothing.

    Hey Again,

    Try using the Nectar Slider instead: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/sliders/ as the Home Slider is deprecated .

    I made a new home page and added the Nectar slider.

    But now I am having a different problem with the home page. https://swhr.wpengine.com/   Below the slider and a text box there is a huge blank space before the footers appear.

    What setting do I need to get rid of that space.  I also have that space on other pages as well. https://swhr.wpengine.com/about/history/

    Thank you

    Hey Again,

    Seeing some console errors : http://prntscr.com/h4cun1 .

    Could you try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

    Thanks

    I only have the Salient Visual Composer activated and I still  have the extra space

    The conflicting plug in has been removed from the plug ins.

    Hi Florence,

    Thanks for getting back to us and my apologies for the trouble. Could you try removing the code I gave you previously. Then clear all the caches installed on your site and server and check back to see if that helps.

    Let us know what happens.

    Best Regards.

    That worked.  I should have figured it  out myself.   I am now  using the nectar slider but I  have a different  issue.

    On the home slider the youtube video (enter as embedded coding) allows a button to be used to give a message.

    But the Nectar slider says to use the caption.  However I cannot make the video sit on the left and the and the header on the right

    Here is a visual of the two sliders videos

    Hey Again,

    Adjust the max-width as per you liking .

    Add this into the Custom CSS box located in your Salient Options panel (Make Sure there are no red cross in the Box) :

    .swiper-slide[data-x-pos="left"] .content p .iframe-embed {
        max-width: 350px !important;
        height: auto !important;
    }

    Thanks

    thank you.  this does help, but I suspect that the slider  is not the best place to host this type of youtube video.  I think i will be better on the about page or at least a different page.

    I have the home page working pretty well, but how do I turn off the parallax on that page and a few other pages.   Do I need to get more templates. Always a pain to rebuild anything

    Hi there,

    Thank you for getting back to us.

    You can disable the parallax in the Nectar Slider settings as shown below:

    As it relates to templates, you can add them via the Salient Studio from your Page Builder:

    I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
