Heavy theme slows down site significantly

    Hi,

I believe this issue has been raised a couple of times by other people.

I really like the theme's visual, but god the theme is now so heavy and apparently the codes are not optimized, leading to the website slow down significantly.

Adding new features is nice, but making the theme lighter faster should be of a priority you guys!

I have to switch to new themes as this theme now is too much for average site/ hosting.

There should be options to turn on/ off features/ custom post types etc. that users don't use. Or how about upgrading to a better framework?

I found out that the your version of Visual Composer heavily weights down the site, especially the back-end. It takes foreverrrrrrr to load . How about removing the templates and only have them downloaded when I choose so for example? Let us choose.

I don't want to advertise other themes here, but you should have a look at competition. I have a theme that is so light and clean and well coded I really love it.

That being says, I like Salient's visual, but unless you make it lighter faster, I cannot recommend it for my clients any more. Please do something!

    Regards,

    Duc

    Hey Again,

Thanks for the Detailed info . Have you tried using the Optimization plugins recommended in this Article http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/performance-optimization-guide/ and check if that makes a difference .

We are making it faster and light weight with each updates as well as adding in new features .

I have done all the optimization possible. And my hosting is extremely good.

The culprit must be your Visual Composer. Please streamline it and make it lighter smaller. And if you have a large customer base already, why not build your own, optimized builder?

At least I would appreciate a checkbox list of what elements I want or don't want to use like in a theme I use.

About the Built-in Templates, let users choose which one to use and don't have them all loaded on the page, or bundle everything in the theme. It's already ~25MB!

I'm no expert, but I bet there are lot of room for improvement you will want to do.

Please send my words to your team leader and make necessary changes before customers leave you for better choices!!!

I'm spending my time to give feedback to you because I like the theme, but most users will just leave without bothering saying goodbye!
