Different blog, different styling

My site, for a business, will have two different blogs. One being used for Press Releases, and another for Articles. I've already set the style of Press releases to not use featured image, and to have a sidebar. Simple layout. Pulling data from a 'press release' category.

The second blog for Articles, pull posts from another category. I would like to show featured image, and have no side bar, as I want to use the page builder to have full control of the layout.

    How can this be done?

    Hey Again,

Simply use Two Blog VC Elements and adjust the VC Settings .

Make sure to update to Salient Theme Version 8.5.0 and Salient VC 5.2.2.

If you are not seeing the Plugin Update Notification you need to uncheck the " Disable Theme Reccomended Plugin Notifications " Field in "Salient Theme Options Panel"  -> General Settings -> "Toggle Theme Features" Section .

To get a list of Bug Fixes and new Feature addons in the Latest Theme update,  the changelog can be viewed here : http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html .

Update the theme by following this guide: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/ .

    Best.

Thanks Tahir. I already do use the latest version. Understand I can setup the layout different using VC. But, what if I want one blog to use sidebar, while the other one I do not.

Ideally, here's what I would like to have:

    Blog 1:

Press releases: With sidebar and featured image

    Blog 2:

Articles: Hide feature image, no sidebar. And if possible, build the page completely with VC, so blog 2 doesn't even show the title, as I'd like to use template elements all the way up to the bottom of navigation.

    thanks!

    Hey Again,

Thanks for the further info . I am afraid the Single Blog Post layout can not be changed depending on the Categories or any such theme Options .

You can however hide the sidebar using custom css  on select single pages using the "post-id" css selector .

Let me know the page url if you need custom css .

Ok thank you. Rather than specific post-id, can we hide sidebar based on blog category?

No i am afraid not as there is no category class output in the body html tag.
