    Hi there,

I am trying to implement the new Blog-style from Salient but I just cannot figure out, why my sidebar thumbs don't look as beautiful as yours in the demo! What are the theme- / blog-settings that I must consider?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hey Again,

Did you switch to the "Material" Skin in Salient Theme Options Panel -> General Settings ? .

    Hello Tahir,

is it really necessary to do such a general global setting? it sort of "changes" too much that I have already set up.

Actually some strange things have happened while I was trying to get the new Salient Blog style ...  maybe I have switched around too much by now trying to find out how to get the "sticky sidebar left featured image template" working on my site. Not only does my result look far from beautiful (see attachment) but images are not being loaded at all as the left featured image, my sidebar thumbs haven't changed and the typo stays below the thumbs instead of to next to the thumbs (even after I have switched to global skin setting "Material") and all my content text on the post pages is not showing anymore (but in visual composer the content is still there).

Do you have some kind of list of settings that are necessary in order to get this "sticky sidebar left featured image template" looking like in the demo?

    Appreciate your help ...

    regards, *alice.

    Tahir,

I am soooo sorry, I emptied my cache and now the material style is showing ... and luckily it has nothing to do with the global skin setting.

Unfortunately though the content of my post page still isn't showing up. Any idea why that could be?

    regards, alice.

    Dear Tahir,

thanks very much for the check-list. I went through it but the problem was a different one. I solved it now.

I know you have a lot of work to do, just in case you are interested: read on ;-) it may be something for another update of Salient one day. Maybe not.

In the Blog Styling settings it was not explicitly enough written for me that the Standard Blog Style (see attachment) refers to the appearance of the single blog post page. I mistook it for a setting for the appearance of a Blog page where featured left image is also an option for layout. This was additionally supported by the setting option below for the masonry appearance which refers to the Blog page and not the single post page.

Anyway, my content is back and my page looks almost as good as your demo. Thanks a lot for your help as always :-)

    regards,*alice.

Sorry, me again. Ticket cannot be closed yet I am afraid ...

I have now encountered a cross effect from my blog settings "Standard Blog Style" to Classic. Yes, the content of my single blog page is back and displaying normal but when I call on a category, archive or tag page the appearance then of course is Classic. This I didn't intend. Thus, the appearance of a Blog page (whether category, archive or tag) is in fact being set via this "Standard Blog Style" setting option.

Question: what does this have to do with the appearance of a single post page?

    Hope you understand my issue.

    regards, *alice.

    Hey Again,

Not really sure what you mean to ask here ? . The Category page settings are set in the Blog Tab in Salient Theme Options Panel .

    Thanks

    Hello Tahir,

sorry for the impreciseness. I have attached an image and hope this depicts my issue better.

In words: I would like to have a Featured Image Left Blog Style for the Blog pages (the ones that display the overview of my published  posts such as category-, archive-, tags-page ...). Unfortunately when I switch to this option in the Blog Option panel, the content of my SINGLE POST PAGES is not being displayed anymore. When I switch to Classic and Minimal, the content of my single post pages reappear but I don't want this Blog Style for the (listing) Blog pages.

I am confused about the consequence that this option in the panel generates: I can see that this setting influences the appearance of Blog pages, but I don't understand why it affects the display of content of my single pages in this mysterious way.

    Thanks for your patience ;-)

    Hey Again,

Do you have a Featured Image set for those Particular Posts ?. We havent had any reports of such an issue .

    Thanks

    Hi Tahir,

the single posts all have featured images. It doesn't make much difference though if I set the Blog setting to hide or show featured image for a single post. see attachment: the featured image is shown, but the content (text) isn't.

    Hey Again,

Could you try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Also allow us to log in to your website backend dashboard so we can check on this for you more?. We are gonna need the username and password of admin user as well as the login url.

    Hello Tahir,

The Plugins I had checked before without a positive effect. But I installed Salient once more and the Update from Wordpress and now it looks fine! I cannot tell you why but I am happy it works like expected!

Thanks, I hope this was it from me now on THIS topic :-)

    Have a nice weekend,
