When saving any changes in Salient Visual Composer the browser jumps to the bottom of the post causing you to have to scroll back up after every change.

    • WP: 4.9
    • Salient VC: 5.2.2
    • Salient: 8.5.2

    Hi Brendan,

Could you do a basic plugin check i.e. switch off all the other plugins except salient visual composer and see if the issue happens again.

If it does then make sure you are using the main theme and not the child theme.
If that does not expose the cause of the issue then respond with temporary admin access - username password with admin privileges - and we will take a closer look at this from the backend

    Thanks.

    Hi Andrew,

    It's a bug with WP 4.9 + Salient Visual Composer 5.2.2

It has now been patched in the latest SVC 5.2.3 update.

    Cheers.

I've updated to 8.5.3 and I am still having this issue. It is driving me nuts! Is anyone else having this issue still?

Where do I download the SVC 5.2.3 I only see the older version on theme forest to download.

For anyone else reading, I had to delete the Visual Composer Plugin and let Salient redownload via the recommended plugins. I don't understand why it doesn't let a user know that the plugin is outdated...

When I go to Salient's customization features though, such as accent colors, the boxes are still cut off on the right and some other odd things going on. Frustrating

@phnadmin go into your installed plugins list and under Salient Visual Composer you should see a message saying something along the lines of 'Update Required' which you can click on to update it.

  • robbyrod89 replied

Awesome, I'm not the only one. This may be a dumb question, but do you need to purchase the Visual Composer License in order to update it to SVC 5.2.3? Because I have the version that came with the theme.

@robbyrod89 when you update the theme it includes the update files for Salient Visual Composer. Just go to your plugins page and find it and there should be an update notification beside it.

When is the next version of Salient being released to fix this annoying bug?

    Brendan replied

@bluesix The team already patched this bug. You need to update your theme + Salient Visual Composer.

Through trial and error I found a fix: In Screen Options, turn OFF "Enable full-height editor and distraction-free functionality."

Thank you Tom :) It helps untill you find the time to update to the latest theme. Grtz

Thanks for the conversation. It looks like I need to purchase the license for $49 to fix this - Boo. Tom, do you mind pointing me to where I can find Screen Options to turn off "Enable full-height editor..."? I'm having a difficult time locating it. Thanks!

    Brendan replied

@clamaboersma If you've already purchased the theme, why would you need to pay $49 to fix this? You just need to update your Salient theme which includes Salient Visual Composer.

They patched this bug ages ago.

  • Marcel replied

@clamaboersma In the Dutch version, you go to the page editing screen (powered by visual composer) and the display options (scherminstellingen) are at the top right corner of your screen if you scroll up. It's quite well hidden.

In there is a checkbox called Afleidingsvrije-modus activeren. Uncheck that.

Also, it's worth noting the display options change with every different menu section in wordpress, so you need to be in the right screen to get the option to do this.

    @Tom's answer works for me:

Through trial and error I found a fix: In Screen Options, turn OFF "Enable full-height editor and distraction-free functionality."

@ralphjesy12 This issue was patched ages ago. Just update your theme and the salient visual composer. You don't need any work arounds or temp fixes as it's already been patched by the team.

@andrew @Tahir - would suggest locking this thread as it's already been patched?
