    Hello.

    The footer widgets of the demo i used contained text but are not editable
    via dashboard/design/widgets. I tried via customizer but this attempt failed too.

    Is there a trick to fix it?

    You need to drag a text widget into one of the footer columns in order to edit the text.

    Confused of reading already text in the footer widgets without any textelement.
