I am trying to link a post title to a URL (e.g. a news article), and have that URL open the news article on a new page. So, for example, if I am on the main page of my blog, and I click on "read more" at the end of the post, I would like it to open a new window to the source URL.

Based on the advice I read, I downloaded and installed the latest version (2.9.9) of the plugin Page Links To.

At the very bottom of the post, a new box appears - specifically for the Page Links To plugin.

When I check the box at the bottom of the option to link to "a custom URL" and lock "open this link in a new tab", it does *not* open the link in a new tab.

When I click on "read more" or on the post itself, it goes directly to the URL, and takes me away from the main blog page.

Is there a way to work around this? 

Or is there another Plug In you'd recommend?

Also note, I imported the Dark Blog demo and am working from this. Would appreciate any advice.
