Could you make sure you have not installed and activated the standard visual composer just to be safe. Also try and make sure you server is using PHP 5.6 or higher with a PHP memory limit set to 128 MB or higher if possible.
If all this checks out then try and reinstall the plugin by deleting it and then installing and activating it from appearance \ install plugins area.
If that does not work then give us temporary admin access - username password with admin privileges - we check this from the backend.

I cannot seem to activate the Salient Visual Composer, I install it, click activate and then the error attached pops up.
