Hello - I love the Salient Theme, I've been using it since 2014. Today, I used the Envato Toolkit Plugin to update the theme. It updated and now the site is stuck loading. I tested every plugin I had, none made a difference. I also tried other themes to see if that was the issue, but the other themes worked fine. Only Salient is broken. I've left the Salient theme up on my site so you can check it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and could you CC me at [email protected]?
    Thanks,

    James

    Hey Again,

If you have Page Transitions Turned On Please Switch the Animated Transition Method to "Standard" in Salient Theme Options -> Page Transition Section.

Also be sure to check/uncheck this Disable Fade Out On Click option : http://prntscr.com/8f3bj7

Moreover if it doesnt work Turn off the Page Transitions and check for Browser Console Errors : https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors

Furthermore could you please go through this checklist quickly so we can rule out common issues https://themenectar.ticksy.com/article/5032/.

    Best.

    Hi Tahir -

Thanks for the quick response. I tried your solutions, none of them worked. The theme is still just spinning - http://www.mountainouswords.com/

I again tried other themes and they worked ok, it's just salient that's not working. I did backup my options for Salient if we need to do some kind of larger reset.

I am running the latest version of WP (4.9.2) with the newest version of Salient.

    Hi James,

The version you have right now is a bit dated and the theme has gone through some major update and that is why the transition to the new version is causing issues.
The latest version is 8.5.3 with salient visual composer 5.2.4: http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html

We would recommend you install the newer version a fresh and gradually move to the latest version slowly.
http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/installation/ - install the theme over FTP. Extract the salient folder from the zip and name it something like salient_new to distinguish it from the current salient folder in your wp-content \ themes \ folder on your server.

Then move to that theme in appearance \ salient.
Then customize it through the salient option to the look of the previous salient or use the newer look to your advantage.

    Hope this helps.
