The full width portfolio layout will change the amount of columns based on the current screen size (can vary from 5 columns to 1 column) - can you share your URL of the portfolio page so I can check it out for you?
I'm running it on a local host environment, it is not live yet.
...thinking outloud, I may not have completed the edits correctly. I was trying to edit the file directly, (open with notepad, made the change and saved). The change took place but had no effect on the site. I tried clearing the cache. I dunno. I'll try again
