The columns are going to change sizes in every viewport so it's recommended you still use images at least 600 - 800px wide even if the column is smaller than that on the desktop view. (The images will shrink to fit anyway)
Thanks, IAN. I am confused, however, for the boxed format. Is your 'viewpoint' note related to mobile/tablet browsers? So there are NO pixel parameters for the columns in a boxed format? Even if relative, I can then calculate based on the fixed size of the boxed format container, allowing for gutters, etc.
