    I have old Salient  version 6.1.65 and need to upgrade to latest version 8.5.

    WordPress is on 4.9.4.

    I must delete the old version ( 6.1.65 ), since using Envato upgrade does not work because "Folder already Exists" message during Envato install .

    If I export the settings in Salient version 6.1.65 before deleting it, can I import the same settings for the new and updated version of Salient (8.59 ) ? In other words, will an import of Salient settings from 6.1.65 work if imported into Salient version 8.5 ?

    Hey Jeso2,

    No i am afraid the Theme Options panel was updated so the old settings wont work in the new version . 

    Simply update the Theme manually using the "Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades" Option :

    With Using Easy Theme Upgrades Plugin

    • Step 1. Download the Salient theme archive from ThemeForest
    • Step 2. Head over to Appearance > Themes in your WordPress dashboard
    • Step 3. Click the Add New button on this page followed by the Upload button when prompted
    • Step 4. Locate the salient.zip file you extracted from the ThemeForest download archive and click the Install Now button
    • Step 5. Choose Yes In the Upgrade existing theme? option from the dropdown list
    • Step 6. Click Install Now followed by Activate
