Hi,
This is a pretty serious issue. The Salient theme won't scroll at all in safari. This has left a few clients confused and thinking the website was weird. I tried it and it doesn't work if you use the scroll wheel or trackpad. You have to manually scroll using the sidebar. Please read this and update me mate as I'm having a nervous breakdown here, I just launched my new company website. :(
Hey James! Can you please let me know what setup you're encountering this on? I have tested on Safari v7.0 on Mac and am unable to replicate this issue with the smooth scroll on.
Philip - Safari will indeed struggle more with that effect since it's demanding and unfortunately there's no way around that other than to disable it.
Hi there! I'm having the same issue of James with Safari 7.0.2 (with default settings) on OS X 10.9.2, tested both on a macbook pro retina and on macbook air 2010 with almost the same setup. It doesn't scroll at all on the first page loading. If you reload the page, it works like a charm, even if you change page clicking on a link, but only if the link is opened in the same tab or window. If it open the link on a new page you will need to reload. I have experienced this issue also on your live preview, so it is a general issue and it could be a limit for you too. Disabling the smooth scroll it works. Do you have at least a code to disable it only on safari?
I have starred the ticket for the developer so that he can take a look at this ticket. Though currently he has his hands full with the latest major update so it might take a while for him to get back to you. Thank you for your patience.
Ok ,for anyone else with this problem just turn off smooth scolling in salient settings.
I am having this issue as well. The website is very "choppy" when scrolling down. Is there any way to fix this without disabling smooth scroll?
