    Hi

I'm looking to have some standard content that I update centrally and is automatically updated on all pages / posts across the site.

On another site that I maintain, that doesn't use Salient, I've installed "Post Snippets" which allows me to create shortcodes like [Standard_Group_Blurb] which WP automatically renders as the defined text - see example.png.  Post Snippets allows me to use its shortcodes in URLs / labels / posts etc.

Post Snippets doesn't seem to work on Salient and I was hoping that you can please tell me how I can achieve the same outcome?  I'm looking to use this standard blurb in footers, buttons, posts, call-to-actions etc

I've had a look on Google, YouTube and the FAQs but can't seem to find the solution - all help will be gratefully received.  I've tried the shortcodes option but it doesn't seem to render the actual text.

    Many thanks in advance

    David

    Hey,

Did you try adding the shortcode in the VC Text Block Page Element ?.

    Hi Tahir

Thanks for coming back to me.

I've created a test post https://coolumtheatre.com.au/2018/03/05/test/ with the same shortcode in a text block and in a button (see example2.png).

It renders correctly in the text block but not in the button label.

As I said, I'm looking to use this functionality in footers, buttons, posts, call-to-actions etc - I don't have to use "Post Snippets" so if you have an alternate method that works that's also fine.

    Many thanks once again

    Hey Again,

Thank you for the screenshot . Unfortunately Button dont allow for shortcodes to work . The only way to make this work would be to copy paste the Button Element HTML code and then place that Html code with the Shortcode in a "Text Block" VC Element.

    Hope this makes sense .

    Hi Tahir

I think I get what you mean but can you please provide said HTML code?  I've tried what I thought it would be and didn't get a button.  The shortcode to use as the button text is [Current_Show_Dates]

    Thanks for your continued support

    Hey Again,

Simply copy the Button Element using the Chrome Inspector Like this : http://prntscr.com/inlbot .

Thanks Tahir - that's a valid workaround (a bit clunky but I can confirm it does work).

    Cheers
