Hi, I would like to add thumbnails with links to related posts at the bottom of my posts.
I've seen that there are plugins for doing this, but I would prefer not to slow my site down. Also, in many cases I would like to choose the related posts manually.
In salient I've seen how to add blog elements, but not how to insert thumbnails to specific posts.

Unfortunately Salient Does not have such a VC Element available . You will likely have to use Third Party Plugins Like Jetpack .
