    Any idea why the footer would be bumping up into the sidebar? I had been adding text widgets to the sidebar of the blog when this appeared.

    Hey Courtney! Yes, there must be some unintentional HTML in one of your widgets or post that's messing up the site markup. You could remove your widgets one by one to figure out which one is behind it and if none are, than it could be in your post content.
