Really like the theme, having had a quick zoom through the features. I've noticed that the parallax effect doesn't work on the Nectar slider in Safari. I've tried it on older and new versions as well as iPad.

Yeah, I’m experiencing the same thing. At first I thought it was just me, but did a fresh install of WP and Salient on a different server.
The text/caption stays static on Safari. Also, the content below the slider will sometimes appear behind the slider before it eventually snaps into place.
Just wanted to add something real quick. The above issue only happens in Safari 7.x. I had a chance to test it on Safari 6.x and it works as it should.
The parallax effect is purposely disabled in Safari because that browser is not quite as capable as others so leaving it on caused some glitches. If it is showing on with older versions of Safari that's actually a bug and I'll note to look into it.
Also Richard - the parallax for all elements has always been turned off in mobile devices because it's not practical to leave it on.
