Is it possible to add more sidebars than the ones that come with the theme? For instance, my "Coupons" page won't have the same widgets as my "About Us" page but it looks like I only have one Page Sidebar option to choose from.
How can I add more sidebars and assign them to certain pages?
Thanks!
I have the same question, but would like a solution that's not adding another plugin. I also need sidebars that are contextual and can be applied to different pages, so can Salient do this?
Not as of version 3.0.5. I've seen the WidgetLogic plugin recommended for this where you use one sidebar and tell each widget you add what pages you want it to appear on.
This is the first theme I've used where you can't add your own sidebars but at the same time I've ended up having to manage 50+ sidebars with other themes which became time-consuming. I prefer to keep third-party plugins to a minimum but I'm curious to try this one to see if it's more efficient to manage sidebars at the widget level rather than setting up entire sidebars over and over again. We'll see!
I'm not sure if this is on the road-map for a future release so maybe someone from their official support team can answer that.
WooSidebars (plugin) looks to be working... I figured if WooCommerce is ok to use with Salient maybe WooSidebars would be too... I'll report back if I come across any issues.
x11tybazillion for having this functionality on the wish list for Salient :)
I'm going to try a dynamic widget plugin for this.

Thanks Rachel, Yes it would be nice to hear from support on this and see if its coming. I'll check out that plugin, thanks for the tip.
Hey Rachel & Kurt!
Widget Logic is indeed the plugin I have been recommending since the release but the ability to define your own sidebars is on the wishlist :)
Also - thanks for helping out Kurt, Rachel :)
Cheers

Hi Nectar, any update by any chance on the ability to define our own sidebars, or at least have the ability to define one or two more?
Thanks!
Hey Michiel!
I am afraid not. As mentioned in earlier comment using the Plugin "Widget Logic" you can pretty much place your widgets on any page.
Thanks
