Image thumbnail files used for gallery?

Im a little confused how wordpress uses images. I am trying to optimise pages with images on. Do I guess right that wordpress uses different scaled images for different uses? For example a thumbnail?

If I am using a page builder image gallery, does wordpress use the thumbnail image? Therefore a smaller file size...

So the page loading is not for example 10 full size images but 10 thumbnails?

I have Lightbox option enabled Hope this makes sense :)

    Hi obri3n,

The image gallery element on salient visual composer allows you to set the size of the image used on the element. That is the image size option on the settings of that image gallery element. Use that.

The images gallery also uses the srcset featured on wordpress that tells the browser which version of the image to load depending on the screen size in use. There is are more details on this here - https://www.keycdn.com/blog/responsive-images/

    Hope this clears things up.
