Updating Theme from 5.x to latest version

    I have a client whom I developed a site for a few years back. This was a one-off site and it was taken down after the project ended. The client now has a new project and wants to use the Salient theme.

    We've restored the old site which was on Salient version 5 and purchased a new copy of the theme which is on version 8. 

    What is the best way to upgrade the old version of the theme to the latest without loosing a lot of custom formatting?

    Thank you,

    I was able to update the theme however now when I visit a page, the menu shows but none of the page content is visible.

    Do you have any thoughts?

    Hey again,

    Could you please go through this checklist quickly so we can rule out common issues https://themenectar.ticksy.com/article/5032/ .

    Your PHP Settings are likely not correct. Also ensure you are running PHP version 7.1 and not 7.2 as its incompatible .

    You can verify your PHP configuration limits by installing a simple plugin called WordPress phpinfo http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-php-info/

    Recommended PHP configuration limits are as follows:

    • max_execution_time 60
    • memory_limit 256M
    • post_max_size 48M
    • upload_max_filesize 48M

    Please have your hosting provider fix this for you so it can be installed correctly.

    Did you update to the latest version of the salient page builder and not the former wpbakery visual composer?

    I've got the pages to show but still see the WPBakery Page Builder.

    Where do i find the Saliant Page Builder?

    If i deactivate the WPBakery Plugin, the pages dont format at all.

    The Salient page builder usually comes bundled with the theme when you purchase,
