Hello!
I have a few questions regardent the Salient Theme's Portfolio structure.
My team and I have been using the portfolio as a way to add infographics to our website, and it's been working well so far.
But the problem I'm running into currently is that I want to create another portfolio that will contain survey responses from both my team
as well as the users that visit our site.
Everything will be typed in and added by hand through adding a new portfolio item, so I don't need a streamlined process, but upon
creation of a new Wordpress Page with the Portfolio Template, I've been running into problems with the way things are structured:
1. I have three test items that have the parent portfolio of 'Q&A' (The page with the portfolio template I just created), but their permalinks/URLS include '/research-studies/' Which is the name/slug
of the other portfolio.
I understand that the slug may be written that way because we have it included in our custom permalink structure in portfolio options, but is there a way I could just leave that field blank and
still retain a structure that reflects the current portfolio being viewed? http://pixelkin.org/specific-portfolio-slug/portfolio-item
What I find especially weird, is that the permalink for the specific portfolio will work. I can use /research-studies/ and I can use /qa/ and they each go to their respective portfolios
But I guess what I'm asking is: Is there a way to specify URL slugs for multiple portfolios? or will any other portfolio created just be overwritten with either /portfolio or the one slug I specify?
Unfortunately there's no way to define a different slug for the single project page because they're all technically leading to same place regardless of how many different pages you create. If you are indeed using multiple portfolio pages though, you should leave the custom slug empty since it wouldn't make sense to have it specific to one or if you need to fill it out (if your using the extended pagination option) then just make it a general slug like "work" etc.
Hey Courtney!

Cheers :)
Thanks
