Hey Lachie, unfortunately both of these sliders don't support animations like that - The Nectar Slider is limited to only sliding and the Home Slider/Gallery element only has a fade transition. For this kind of an effect you would need to use custom solution or a premium plugin like Slider Revolution which is supported in the theme as of 3.0 :)
This could be either the embedded ones from the WYSIWYG or the homepage slider.
Any thoughts on this please?
