I have content on VideoPress that I can now embed in my site using embed codes and Raw HTML boxes. Looks great on windows and macs- but none of the videos are visible on android or IOS7. My site is launching soon and I am expecting a majority of mobile traffic and need help!
Ryan, can you please clarify what you did. I get fine results with my video on my nectar slider on desktops, but my Droid X (I know, it's an older phone but that's another story,) pops up a dialog that the video cannot be played.
I have the video embedded onto the slider by entering two versions of it, the .mp4, and the WebM. Do I need the .ogv as well?
I haven't asked anyone else with other phones to look at it for me. I'm fiddling with the site now, but it's about the third slider in on http://t24calc.com at the moment.
Oh! And P.S.: if I decide I'm happy with just a splash image for mobile, can I make sure the user doesn't get a popup saying the video wonn't play?
I just checked your site on my GS4 & an iPhone5 and it behaves expectedly - the video is replaced with the image. If you check out this part of the tutorial http://youtu.be/FLU9Pxo_RD8?t=6m35s you'll get some more information on how video bgs get handled on mobile. If yours is not doing that on your phone it must be because it's too old and not getting picked up by the current mobile detection in the theme.
changed to embed code and tinkered with css from other posts. works fine now
