Hi, thanks for the greatest WP-theme I've ever worked with. besides for one thing: I can't get the portfolio-sorting to work on the outside - no matter what, I only get one option: "All" I've tried both with page settings and through Nectar codes but neither works. Besides (but I've tried both!) I'm a little in doubt if all subcategories will be shown if I choose one mother-category ... or if I should mark all of the subcategories one by one in the settings? best regards, frederik

    I'm also having this problem

Are you using Portfolio Categories that have Parent Categories?

I just changed a portfolio category, which was the child of another category that didn't have any published portfolio items, and that category then showed up.

So it seems at the moment sortable categories only show up if they are at the root level of portfolio categories.

Is there a way to get around this to maintain sortability for nested categories?

    thanks

THANKS! It took me a while to understand your answer (what you call root level I first took for child-categories etc.), but now I get it - and it sure works!

I guess it would be a great feature for a future version of Salient, if sortability would work in other ways as well - especially so you could choose one root-category for the portfolio, and all the child-categories would show up as sortable. Which would mean: when you create new child categories, you wouldn't have to mess up with the setup of the portfolio itself :-)
