your THeme "Salient" always worked but since I updated Wordpress last week to 4.9.8 The Sliders are not working correctly anymore. They are displayed either with 30% width, are overlapping at small windowsized and generally do not function properly. The Salient Version is 7.0.9 and even after I updated to the new one, it did not fix the problem unfortunately.
WP Fastest Cache and Yoast are installed but not the cause of the problem. after deleteing all the cache and deactivating both plugins it still does not work. It seems to neither be a CSS problem since I switched them with some of earlier versions.
Please have a Look, I need help asap since I have two customer meeting on Monday
Please update both the theme and salient page builder to the latest versions. Current page builder version is 5.4.7. Also make sure you are running PHP 7.1

Page builder is still named "Visual Composer" since I am still running Salient 7.0.9
I try to avoid to update your Theme since I use custom revisions of the functions.php and style.css!
After all this back and forth of reuploading backups the Visual composer seems to have crashed shomehow. I really would like to update Salient but this is kind of a time consuming problem at the moment... Do you know an easy way to merge the old customized functions.php and style.css into the new files of the update? I use Dreamweaver to edit the Code, but I did not find any solutions online to merge the files and overwrite certain Classes and IDs.
just wanted to let you know that the issue was cause by another Cache Plugin, in my case I believe WP Fastest Cache.
this caused the bugs with the sliders.
I talked to a collegue of mine and saw some guides to fix the Visual Composer problem. The URL / Linking might be the problem since, in the frontend everything is still shown perfectly. Shortcodes also work aswell. He adviced me to reinstall just the Visual composer / WPBakery. Can I do this by just exporting the Plugin within your Salient.zip ?

What is the best way to merge the custom old ones into the new versions?
Thank you scott, The issue seems to be caused by the Plugin Async JavaScript
It rendered everything correctly before I updated my Wordpress but after deactivating, everything seems to run just fine.
Now I am suddenly left with the Problem that my Visual Composer does not show each elements in the Backend anymore.

Unfortunately there is no quick fix . Also we would suggest making changes using the Child Theme instead of functions.php.
