I have read the previous tickets. I hate to say it, but I'm confused as to:
1. Why all of a sudden Google has darkened the map, watermarked it with "For development purposes only," served up an error message.
2. I don't get how to resolve this issue.
My request: If there is a process of resolving this issue, please, be kind, and give step by step instructions. (I'm great with instructions, but remember I that I just love love love the theme, but am not a coder.)
I'm afraid not. Google updated their maps policy to include billing for each specific API key used. Please note that they wont charge you any money upfront.
OK... So I followed through and set up billing; received and set up the API key with the exact URL of the page that will be referring; wanted the requested five minutes for settings to take effect; entered API key into Settings>CSS/Script Related>Google Maps API Key and hit save. And then went to check... The bummer continues. I also repeated the above and tried with the site's https://globalsolutions.org. No joy either. It now displays:
Oops! Something went wrong. This page didn't load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.
What now? I know I must have missed something. But what?

Hey Laura,
Thanks for reaching in,
You will have to regenerate your API key again and input you billing credential https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key
Hope this helps,
