On the footer I have filled in the email, telephone, twitter and linkedin details, but when I view the footer I only see the linkedin and twitter icons.
Within the Salient footer options panel there are no tick boxes for 'Use Phone' or 'Use Email' in the same way there are 'Use Twitter Icon'

Yes thats correct there is no option to show email and Phone on Footer so you will have to add it via the Footer Widgets.
