I have three main categories and each one has subcategories. I use the main categories to filter blog pages and the subcategories to display clickable button on post image (see capture 1). I classify each post based on the subcategory because the clickable button uses only the the first category to display. In other words if I select both the parent and the child category the button will display the parent label. If I select the child but not the parent - the page will filter correctly and the button will display the correct label for the child.
The problemk starts when I select two children from to categories - I am creating a cross classification for the post. Notice on Capture 1A that I cane a category Resources and child VIDEO. Notice on Capture 1B that once the child is select it is moved out of the hierarchy for resources. If I select a another child from another category, like industries, it also gets moved up and the selections are sorted alphabetically. THIS CAUSES A PROBLEM.
(1) If I filter a page by RESOURCES, the blogs are filtered and displayed correctly by the main category resources even though I selected only a child sub category within it.
(2) The clickable buttons labels on the blog picture (Capture 1) are not correct. The label comes from the alphabetically sorted list of sub categories.
Thus even though my page is filtered by the Category, the buttons labels are not filtered by the main category. THIS HAS TO BE A BUG as if i filter on a parent I expect the children to be filtered.

Hey Again,
Unfortunately the Blog and Portfolio Posts are not designed to work with Child Categories at the moment .
