I've inherited a site that is running off the Salient theme version 5.5.53, and I'm looking to update the site to the current version 9.0.1. Is there a recommended update path to take? And how would I go about getting the theme files for the updates in between the one I'm at and the current one?
That version is a very old as the theme has gone through some major changes and is its really different right now.
For updating we would recommend you install the new theme and then switch to it all while you have the older one. Then deal with changing the options in the new one to look somewhat similar to the older one.
A conventional update is not possible where you replace the older one with the newer one as that will cause issues.
