Internal page error while using WPBakery Page Builder

    Hello,

I have narrowed down the issue to the WPBakery Page Builder plugin. Whenever this is activated I cannot access the edit function on any page. It just issues me with an internal error page. I've reinstalled, deactivated plugins one at a time to find this out. Can you suggest any work around?

I also own this theme with a different account and have the old version of visual composer. I was tempted to manually swap the files over but I would prefer not to.

    Hi Tristan,

The theme uses salient wpbakery page builder not wpbakery page builder.
The plugin is included with theme and its modified to fit the needs of the theme. It's not the standard wpbakery page builder plugin.

Could you try and use the latest version of the theme 9.0.1 with the latest version of salient wpbakery page builder 5.5.2.

Those should not give you and issue unless there is another plugin causing this. You can check by only having salient wpbakery page builder plugin enabled. Disable everything else.

If the issue still happens then give us temporary admin access - username password with admin privileges - we check this from the backend.

    Thanks.

    Hi Tristan,

This is very strange as that salient wpbakery page builder plugin is needed by the theme.

Could you first make sure you are using PHP 5.6 or higher on your server with a PHP memory limit set to 128 MB or higher. You can confirm those details from your hosting provider.

Also the 500 errors are listed with the exact cause on your error log. Can you access it from the cpanel area and see what is listed as the cause of the 500 error.

    Thanks.

Please check for server php errors using this guide: http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/your-complete-guide-to-troubleshooting-wordpress/ . It would be best to contact the hosting provider and have them look into this as they are aware of the Server Configuration Details .

The support from unlimited web hosting came back with this... Is there anything I can do about this?

    Hello,

I am afraid it looks like the following error is being returned:

[Mon Sep 10 12:05:16 2018] [error] [client 84.92.211.2] ModSecurity: Output filter: Response body too large (over limit of 1048576, total not specified). [hostname "makeengineering.co.uk"] [uri "/wordpress/wp-admin/post.php"] [unique_id "W5ZP7JX-OmYAKHsnMxMAAAAQ"] [Mon Sep 10 12:05:16 2018] [warn] [client 84.92.211.2] (20014)Internal error: mod_fcgid: ap_pass_brigade failed in handle_request_ipc function, referer: http://makeengineering.co.uk/wordpress/wp-admin/edit.php

It looks like software you are using is generating a response body that is too large, unfortunately that limit on the server would mean that this will not work on the shared hosting platform.

    Kind Regards, Nick

    Hi Tristan,

Could you increase that post max size to at least 48 MB if possible.

And if it's not possible then try and use a hosting service that allows for that level of post max size.
Let us know how it goes and we can take it from there.

Thanks for your reply. It's all getting a little messy :(

I'll contact the hosting but I'm imagining he can't alter it judging by the below message.

Could you recommend a hosting company that is known to work with this theme / plugin?

    Would be a great help.

    Hi Tristan,

We do not have a recommended list of hosting companies but you can try blue host, host gator and godaddy as we have seen a large percentage of users use those guys.

    Cheers.
