On mobile devices, the slider image does not scale properly. The text is being cut off. Can it be made fully responsive so that the image is seen properly for mobile? Thank you.

    Hey Jackeiga!

I am afraid the Background image aligns automatically use the css cover method. Best would be to adjust your image so that it aligns properly on your test devices.

Well I was under the impression that this theme is fully responsive but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. The images are being cut off instead of scaled depending on the browser.

    Hey Jackeiga,

The css property used that Tahir mentioned is inherently responsive by nature - just in your case where you've chosen to place text in the image itself and also aligned it far on the side, the minor clipping becomes an issue. If you can't create your image to keep the text content more towards the center I'd be glad to help you with some css to make sure it works anyway. At this very moment it appears your slider isn't loading in because the image you've set for the BG is returning a 404 - once you can correct that I'll take a look again for you and help you sort this out :)

Is there an "ideal" size for the images that we upload into the Nectar sliders? Not only for optimal visualization in mobile devices, but in my case, for regular visualization too. I've been spending way too many days trying to figure out the best way to get the best "section" of the picture to show up and everytime I change it I have to go back and figure out where the text would be the most visible... kind of frustrating, but I am admittedly not a programmer so it may just be my own ignorance of the basics but I love this theme and want to get at least a decent version of my site up as soon as I can.

    Thanks!

    Hey Allison!

From my more then a year experience providing support for Revolution Slider you wont be able to fit an image with text on all devices. Many have tried including me but its mathematically not possible. Therefore it is advised and recommended to always put text in layers and use images for backgrounds.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Tahir - just to clarify for my non-programmer mind.... what do you mean put text in layers?

  • jason replied

My understanding with the way revolution slider works is you can create 'layers' ontop of each other using multiple images (or I believe built in fonts). This means you use one image as the background and then you can create a second file with transparent text which can be placed a top it. They will move seperately from one another as the website scales bigger or smaller. I believe there is also the ability to make text layers directly with the revolution slider which is designed to adjust its location perfectly for responsive design...though I could be wrong. Sorry I didn't mean to hijack! I'm browsing posts for my own set of problems hah!

    Hey Jason!

You are Right on most parts , Thank you for your input. Revolution Slider lets you put layers of text and image on top of your background images so the resizing of the background does not effect the position of the layers therefore your text and images etc are visible on all devices.

Hope this helps clear a bit.

Thanks for chiming in Jason, that was very kind fo you!

And thanks Tahir too. I will attempt the layers and see if I can figure it out, but I'm kind of losing enthusiasm at this point.
