    Hello,

I am having trouble correctly setting blog settings.

I am trying to replicate the blog style found here:

    http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-corporate/news/

I have a page set up simply named "Blog". On this page I used the "Recent Posts Slider" element and it displays fine.

Next, In Settings > Reading I set the "Posts page" accordingly to "Blog".

Now the header disappears and the recent posts display on the page (masonry style) as they should, but with no header.

I have fiddled with settings for a few hours and cannot figure out how to have both the "Recent Posts Slider" and "Masonry" posts to display at the same time as in the link example.

The attachment is the "Blog" main page when Settings > Reading is not set to anything. The header displays fine, but no masonry posts.

I'm sure the answer is something silly that I must have overlooked.

    Thanks!

    Hey Tahir,

I had actually tried that method last night. The issue is that you lose the ability to control the "Masonry Item Sizing" on each post. Each post will just default to one single size. That control is located on individual post pages (see attachment). The option is only active using the Settings > Reading area and setting a default blog page.

    Please see attachment.

    Thanks.

Okay, I tried the regular "Blog" element instead of the "Recent Posts" element that you had added and it looks right, and maintains control of size.

    Looks like that's the answer.

Thanks for the assistance. Love the theme, just wish the documentation was a little better. I run into many situations where the solution is very simple, just not obvious due to conflicting options.

    Thanks for the assistance Tahir.
