Every time I try to use the Gutenberg element from within WPBakery, it gives me the error: "Gutenberg plugin doesn't work properly. Please check Gutenberg plugin."

Is this because the Gutenburg element is not yet ready to be used? Or is it an issue on my end?

that document doesn't share any information regarding the WPBakery Gutenberg element NOT Working. 

I have already updated my Salient version to the latest as well as all my plugins. 

Is there a solution for getting the Gutenberg element to work within the WPBakery editor (as it says it would).

I understand that WPBakery will continue to be the editor for Salient. But within the new WPBakery there is a Gutenberg Element, under content elements. When I select that element, the text informs me that I can use the Gutenberg block editor directly within the WPBakery editor. When I click to edit that element, it then allows me to “Open Editor”. Which then gives me the error that I screenshotted in my last reply. 

What I’m asking about is not how to use the Gutenberg editor but rather the Gutenberg element within the WPBakery editor. 

Please advise.
