    I've updated to WP 5 and also updated to the newest version of Salient. When I ho to Salient>Demo Importer and select any of the listed demos I'm able to instal the necessary plugins, but when I click on importing the content and layout it starts from 0% and never moves on.

    Is there any workaround this?

    Hey 

    Your PHP Settings are likely not correct. Also ensure you are running PHP version 7.1 and not 7.2 as its incompatible .

    You can verify your PHP configuration limits by installing a simple plugin called WordPress phpinfo http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-php-info/

    Recommended PHP configuration limits are as follows:

    • max_execution_time 60
    • memory_limit 256M
    • post_max_size 48M
    • upload_max_filesize 48M

    Please have your hosting provider fix this for you so it can be installed correctly.

    My provider helped me set up all according to what you written except for max_execution_time which is set to 300.

    Unfortunately the demo import still doesn't work. :(
