I'd like to add an image hover effect to images inserted using the Single Image Nectar Element. Is it possible to use effects like this: http://goo.gl/XT4N44 or something similar please? Thanks for any pointers.
I am afraid it wont be possible with css alone. You would need to introduce additional markup as well in the shortcode and we would advise against it since we use a customized version of VC so it will likely get overwritten in a theme update.
