Hello again! I noticed that on the Home Page slider, YouTube thumbnails do not appear on certain browsers (older versions of IE, Safari on the Mac, sometimes Chrome on Windows) but do on other browsers. Would you know what is going on? Thanks!
As a follow up, I was able to fix this when there was a background image for each slide on the Home Page Slider. But, the problem that comes about when I do this fix is that on IE 8 or below, the site just crashes before it even loads up the slider.
Could you please take a look atSection 3.1 Troubleshooting Video Backgrounds in the user guide : http://themenectar.com/docs/salient.pdf and see if that helps resolve your issues.
Well the slider piece I worked on wasn't a video background so the manual didn't help me but I was able to (mostly) resolve my problem by,
1. Making sure all the backgrounds for each slider is set to some image (even if it's just a black jpg). 2. Refreshing my cache & restarting my computer (no joke).
The thumbnails don't always appear, especially on IE <8 or slower connections, but it works most of the time for me to be satisfied.
I did encounter another problem on how the slider doesn't 'wait' for a video to finish playing but I'll put that in another ticket to keep things tidy. Thanks!
