If it works locally you probably need some server configuration. Check this out: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6139969/video-file-ogv-plays-locally-in-firefox-but-not-from-server
Please see Section 3.1 Troubleshooting Video Backgrounds in the user guide : http://themenectar.com/docs/salient.pdf . Do run your videos through the online convertors mentioned in the guide as we ran our videos throught them for the videos.
I have this same problem on mobile anything. I ran all my files through the online converter. I'm on the latest salient dl and I could not get nectar slider videos to play on mobile (any mobile device, local or otherwise). Once I removed the webm video it worked everywhere. I was even able to load my original .mp4 file. The problem is I had a very high bit rate on the mp4 as that was what the desktop seemed to prefer and I wanted a good quality file. Now I'm serving up that same file to the mobile version and I can't imagine how much of the data plan that would chew up for customers.
I forgot to mention I forced the htaccess file to load the info from the pdf troubleshooting guide. My apache server should load those automatically, but I just wanted to make sure. Still no dice.
I've tried all the suggestions as far as adding the code in the htaccess file and running the videos through the online converter, but I'm still not having any luck. Any chance I could have someone look at it for me? I'm afraid to mess with the htaccess file much more than what I already have with the code you mentioned in the PDF since I'm not super familiar with it.
Does anyone have issues with video not playing in Firefox?
I have! Looking for a solution but nothing so far.

Otherwise - start with this one. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15656465/html5-video-not-playing-in-firefox
One final solution that seems to work - remove the webM file. When I do this the movie works in FF, IE, Chrome and Safari.
I'll check this out and thank you so much for some direction :)
It does play in all other browsers online - Safari, Chrome, IE....just does not work on firefox :/

I'll let you know if I can get the above solution to work.
THANKS!
