I've been playing around with this on my friend's server, and now on mine, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to make either a slider or carousel that a) has multiple images on the page (for desktop), b) has one or more images off screen that the user can slide to, c) allows me to have captions on top of the images, and d) allows each of those images to link to a page, portfolio, or post (I need to be able to choose).

I've found elements that do part of those things, but nothing that does all of them. For reference: https://staging.ytg.jp <-- just the visual part. Never got the links working on this one either.

    Hey T,

Only the Nectar Slider and the Image Gallery Grid Type has options to link to external urls : http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/galleries/ and http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/sliders/

    Hi Tahir,

Please read my post carefully. I didn't mention external URLs at all. The links I want are internal (posts, pages, or portfolios).

    Thanks,

    Andrew

If you are looking at recreating this url : https://staging.ytg.jp/ . You can try using the Carousel Page Element and then add a Fancy Box Element in it .

    See screenshot : http://prntscr.com/mf7j9o . Try using the Salient Studio elements : http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/salient-studio/  .

    Thanks, Tahir, that worked perfectly.

That element (carousel) doesn't seem to be able to sit behind the header, though. Assuming that's not possible (please tell me if it is; I played around with the transparent header options, but it looks like they only work with the Nectar slider), how do I get rid of the insane about of dead space between my header and the carousel? I have all padding and borders set to 0px, but there's still a big chunk of dead space. You can check it at https://kimothy.ytg.jp

    Hey Again,

Try using the Force Transparency Option in "Page Header Settings" Metabox . See screenshot : http://prntscr.com/gjnyit .

That worked! Thank you! Still new to Salient and sometimes trying to find which setting where controls things is tricky.
