I have imported from the 'Demo Importer' before with no problem. However, I deleted a bunch of pages and posts from the sidebar in Wordpress and now when I go to the homepage, the demo's front page isn't showing. I have tried deleting the theme and re-installing it, but none of the demos are showing any content anymore.

The older demo images dont get imported as they are copyright protected. Try using the Prebuilt layouts in Salient : http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/salient-studio/ .
