I want to use the inbuilt functionality of the Salient theme. I am trying to get a small sized Vimeo video embed on the home page to expand when clicked - to fill the screen and have the background darkened (lightbox effect). I would like to know the syntax for achieving this result if you can help.
Thanks for your response. In the portfolio section of the Salient demo page (see link below) the Vimeo video 'Sticky Sidebar' plays in a lightbox when you click 'play video'. This is the result that I want to achieve on my home page, but without the 'watch video' and 'more details' overlay. Is this possible in Salient without a plugin?
Hey Steve! Just to comment on this - you can open a Youtube or Vimeo video in a lightbox by adding the class pp - please enter this into the text tab on your editor and it should work:
That code works great as a button for me, and now I'd love to be able to have each portfolio item open like that (I only use video linked to vimeo on my site)
How could this 'pp class' be applied to Portfolio items?

Basically you just have to create a anchor tag and place the rel=prettyphoto to it. This is how the view larger button is coded :
