First of all, thanks for your wonderful theme! I really love customizing and working with the theme.
For one of my clients, I want to use the Salient theme. It's for a festival that has lots of theater, music, literature and film. So, I’m making a website with news articles that the festival posts, but they also want their lineup published on their website, I tried some things, but I can’t figure it out.
Im trying to accomplish the following things:
1.Because the festival is more days, I want the visitors to be able to filter the lineup/program in 2 different categories.
* What day (Friday, Saterday and Sunday)
* What kind of program (Theater, Music, Literature, Film)
So, for example they are only wanting to see the Music’s Friday program, they can filter those things and they only getting showed that particular program items.
2. Also, I want to show the playing times on the Single Portfolio days, by each day. Because some of the theater are having multiple gigs on different days. For example a theater and music band (9x13) is going to play on Friday 11:00 til 11:45, 15:00-15:45, Saturday 12:00 – 12:45, 17:15 – 18:00. They need to see that information in the sidebar of the ‘portfolio’ item.
3. The last thing I need help with is changing the ‘Portfolio’ tab name in the wordpress admin panel to ‘Programma’. It just gives the finishing touches to my clients website!
No i am afraid this would require custom work . As regards changing the Portfolio Slug you can do that in Salient Theme Options Panel -> Portfolio Slug.
But where do I start? Where are the files I need to change? Because I'm trying to find it, but I can't. Im very very new to coding :$
Can I create a filter for the project attributes? And where and how to I manage to create this function?
Also in the shortcode-processing.php, how do I call the project categorie and attributes? In portfolio option 8, I'm want to see 'Attribute' + 'Categorie' instead of the 'project-date'
I dont see this possible at the moment without custom work. Please consider hiring a freelancer over at Envato Studio for these Theme customizations as they are not provided as Support: http://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy .
This might help write up Custom CSS: https://support.woothemes.com/hc/en-us/articles/203105957-Customizing-your-theme-with-Firebug .
Hmm... Sad to hear that you can’t awser my question about the shortcode-processing.php. Because I want to do it my self and thought the maker of the theme could help me figure out some stuff.
And ofcourse I’m familiar with the child theme function. But thanks for the tip!
